Former deputy attorney general sentenced for rape

A former deputy attorney general was sentenced to 18 months in prison June 16 for raping a teenage boy. In March, Daniel Simmons, 35, of Pike Creek, pleaded guilty to one count of fourth-degree rape in New Castle County Superior Court. In addition to prison time, Simmons was sentenced to six months home confinement and two years probation, said Carl Kanefsky, spokesman for the Attorney General's Office. Simmons ...
